Born in Malines on February 5, 1958, Arlette Steenmans (Genealogy) lives, until 1982, the family house of the center the Malignant ones. While the schools of the city contribute to its training and its education, whereas already a beautiful artistic creativity continues, it are impassioned for the observation of the stars and are integrated quickly into a group of set young people malinois, like it, of astronomy. After humanities without clashes, it will study painting in Karel de Grote Hogeschool voor Schone Kunsten of Antwerp, from where it leaves graduate in 1980. During the years when it is occupied of the observatory, Arlette Steenmans can devote to her art only too rare moments. But since 1999, it can be finally devoted to it completely. The Handing-over becomes a center of art. The a.s.b.l. Artventure, which manages this center, there organizes exposures and courses of painting. Arlette Steenmans chooses, as for it, to practise the pictorial representation of nature there, and one of its ambitions is the realization on order of illustrations of works treating of fauna and the flora. The exposure which is devoted to him to Ostend at summer 99 meets a very beautiful success of regard: a great number of purchasers appreciates there the artist with his right value.
